Charlotte South African Braai 2025
Hello, friends! The braai is back in 2025! Mark your calendars for Saturday April 26th, at McDowell Pavilion. Come join us for a braai, chat or networking with fellow South Africans.
Join Charlotte's South African community for a spring bring-and-braai, note the new location of McDowell Pavilion (our first time at this location).
Bring the whole family to celebrate South African culture, food and sports and get some free goodies from our great sponsors!
Date: April 26th (The day before Freedom Day!)
Time: 10am-4pm
Location: McDowell Pavilion, in McDowell Nature Reserve, 15242 York Rd, Charlotte, NC 28278
Cost: FREE, this is a traditional bring 'n braai, so please bring some extras, see below for items we'd recommend bringing.
What to bring:
This is a typical South African Bring 'n Braai, so please bring some meat, sides and drinks. There will be sharing tables set up where you can share any food or other items you'd like to share!
The shelter has 2 medium sized braai areas, but feel free to a Weber or grill if you have the ability to transport it easily. Extra charcoal is also welcome.
See our FAQ page for more information.
This event promotes unity and tolerance amongst all races, religions, sexual orientations and political views; please respect each other and the facilities provided by the City of Charlotte. Please follow all park rules.
